Words and Music: Brandon Carter, Chris Davenport, Joel Houston
Album: Glorious Ruins
Released: 2013
Details: Psalm 73:26, My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

Psalm 27:1, The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?

Through all the times that we need him, Jesus stood at our side. When everything turns upside down and no one is around to lean, Jesus is there to be our companion. When the world made us feel unwanted, Jesus welcomes us with arms wide open. Jesus is the same as yesterday, today and forever, he never change,  he surely never fails to make us feel his great love for us.

He never failed us on anything nor turn his back on us or even forsake us for everything we’ve done that hurt him. If you ever heard the story of the famous Christ the Redeemer statue in Brazil, one night a man dreamed of talking to Christ, the man asked  Jesus how much Jesus loves us and Jesus replied, ” I raised my hands and die”. Jesus laid on the cross for us, for our sins, and paid down to the last one of it. He redeemed us and gave us freedom.

Truly, Jesus never fails, now, tomorrow, and forever.

Glorious Ruins

Artist: Hillsong
Words and Music: Matt Crocker, Joel  Houston
Album: Glorious Ruins
Released: 2013
Details: Isaiah 61:3, and provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.

God commanded and everything was created (Psalm 148:5). Statistically, you and me shouldn’t exist. Tracking back the records of your mom and dad up to their parents and their parents’ parents stretching to their ancestors, it is a long historical record. We were blessed to be here today, enjoying God’s glory. God has laid a perfect plans for us, and He is preparing a perfect one for each one of us. His Glory extends beyond the vast universe, which you and me can not fathom, but we can confidently claim that, we are God’s children and His plans for us aims not to harm us.

Words and Music: Joel Davies, Jason Ingram, Braden Lang, Morgan
Album: Glorious Ruins
Released: 2013
Details: Psalm 27:8-9, My heart says of you, “Seek his face!” Your face, Lord, I will seek. Do not hide your face from me, do not turn your servant away in anger; you have been my helper. Do not reject me or forsake me, God my Savior.

We can’t live without God, for He is our everything. He created us in His own image,  life is empty without our creator, to say that we can exist apart from God is to say that a story could exist without a storyteller and a watch could exist without a watchmaker. God sustains all His creations, lit up the sun for both good and evil, poured out the rain for both righteous (Matthew 5:45).  God gifted us with eternal life. Through Christ our Lord and redeemer, God gives eternal life to those who believe.

Without God, we can’t be fulfilled, even in our mortal life. Only God can provide true peace. Satisfaction is an endless pit, seeking worldly satisfaction will just give temporary diversions of life and will later end to deeper despair. Having God means filling yourself an inexhaustible joy and peace.

Lets Go – Planetshakers 2015 Album

Let’s Go is a live album from Planetshakers under Integrity Music that has been released on September 11, 2015. The album is from the combine effort of Joshua Brown, Russell Evans, and Mike Pilmer as the main producer.

Three months after this Australian megachurch has had released “Outback Worship Sessions,” they are back with a brand new set of live worship songs. While many of their peers parsimoniously offer a mere 10 tracks, “#LETSGO” is a generous serving, boasting a whopping total of 15 cuts. Indicative by the hashtag in its titular, “#LETSGO” is worship music made for the social media demographic. Bursting at the seams with an adrenaline rush of youthfulness, the first 5 songs of the disc are all EDM infiltrated worship dance burners; the kind of worship that will get fans of Hillsong Young and Free out of their seats bopping to its synth-driven riffs and beeping polytechnics. Thus, “#LETSGO” feeds a lacuna of ministering to the Millenniums, an urgent and noble priority of the Planetshakers Church.

writes, “The whole release is a roller-coaster of a worship ride. Perfectly paced at each turn to carry you through the devotion behind the music – enjoy the ride, raise your hands if you like but keep them inside the car.”[3] Awarding the album three and a half stars from New Release Today, Mary Nikkel states, “there are moments when it struggles to stay both engaging and coherent in equal measure– a challenge perhaps intensified by the album’s length.”[5]

Darryl Bryant, giving the album four and a half stars at Worship Leader, writes, “#Letsgo charges forward from the call to worship”.[6]Rating the album four stars by Louder Than the Music, Jono Davies says, “Songs that are powerful, but also intimate, and beautiful to worship to.”[4] Madeleine Dittmer, indicating in a four star review for The Christian Beat, describes, “#LETSGO effectively inspires us to proclaim the gospel while simultaneously inviting us to come back to where we belong and actively engage in heartfelt worship of our creator.”[2]

The Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost, as stated in Luke 19:10. Because our salvation is a part of God’s plan, He sent His only begotten son Jesus Christ to redeem us and free us from the slavery of sin.

To Be Like You

Artist: Hillsong
Words and Music: Crocker, Brooke Fraser
Album: Glorious Ruins
Released: 2013
Details: John 3:30-31, He must become greater; I must become less.” The one who comes from above is above all; the one who is from the earth belongs to the earth, and speaks as one from the earth. The one who comes from heaven is above all.

Jesus wants us to be humble, as he came down and live a simple life. He was born in a manger, he was carpenter, he did not dress himself with riches, he dine with sinners, he served the people with kindness and a great love. Jesus did this to set as an example, to  set the patter of humility, that even the Lord himself came down with humbleness. This is what Jesus wants us to do, to live a life of humbleness, to walk his path, to be an image of humility, just like him.

Man of Sorrows

Artist: Hillsong
Words and Music: Crocker, Fraser
Album: Glorious Ruins
Released: 2013
Details: Isaiah 53:1-4, Who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him. He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.

Based from Isaiah 53, on the bible context about Jesus’ passion as he bore our sins and took all the sufferings that comes with it. Jesus paid our sins with his life so that we will able to receive his righteousness and will be worthy for God’s blessing.

Jesus never complained for the burden he carried nor forsake every sinner for it. The Man of Sorrows, as the song implies,  Jesus took it all for us, because he loves us. He was punished and mocked by the people he saved yet still he forgives. He endured everything and laid his hands to the cross, for you and for me.
